This, coupled with an understanding of our clients’ business, allows us to provide tactical loyalty solutions that no other in-store marketing campaign can – increasing visit frequency and basket size, and attracting new shoppers.

About your role as a Founder | Sourcing manager

We are looking for an experienced Sourcing Manager to join L, a dynamic, global scale-up. As Sourcing Manager, you will be part of our Category Sourcing team (Product Management/ Sourcing Management/QA) and responsible for ensuring optimal buying conditions and processes for the products offered in our loyalty programs. You will oversee capacity availability at the most suitable locations, manage and develop supplier relationships, and ensure products and suppliers are compliant according to international, local and internal requirements.

Responsibilities include:

Buying process
  • Monitoring the cost drivers of products
  • Winning negotiations in pricing, delivery conditions, payment terms (Condition of Purchase) with existing and new suppliers
  • Coordinating the buying process for (licensed and A-Brand) products and streamlining the production process and delivery
  • Ensuring product quality in compliance with country- and client-specific requirements, along with our QA team.
Vendor Risk Management
  • Managing relationships with partners; suppliers of A-branded goods and licensed products in the EMEA region
  • Monitoring the supplier market; finding new suppliers to secure future sources in the EMEA region
  • Performing regular supplier evaluations to ensure the vendor base is optimised and aligned with L’s needs
  • Performing factory audits at potential suppliers in collaboration with the QA team
  • Overseeing the vendor risk management process, including contract management
  • Overseeing the year-end closure process with suppliers regarding agreements.
Product development
  • Supporting and executing feasibility studies and product development with suppliers, adhering to product development milestones
  • Providing product knowledge, technical questions and new concept ideas from your knowledge of the supplier market
  • Selecting and developing suppliers who are the best fit for L’s needs, concerning capacity, competitiveness, flexibility, lead-times, reliability, quality level, and development capabilities in particular
  • Working closely with Quality in the product development phase to assist suppliers to improve their quality and production processes
  • Overseeing, along with the QA manager, product testing, setting the norms for inspection by developing a supplier handbook
  • Completing logistical and product details, including BOM (bill of material), for new products.
Program preparation, planning and execution
  • Providing insight into the lead management phase on possibilities for new production, lead times, capacity and MOQ
  • Keeping track of program performance via Supply Chain Management to anticipate performance changes and the impact on suppliers or deliveries
  • Maintaining contact with suppliers in the case of escalations during the program.
About the perfect candidate:

  • 3-5 years of experience in international sourcing, trading or merchandising
  • Technical product or supplier knowledge in relevant categories; preferably cookware/ovenware/bakeware and/or glassware/dinnerware/glass or plastic food storage/textiles and paper/carton
  • You have strong negotiation skills and a win-win mentality
  • You are familiar with working in an international environment
  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • You are a proactive problem solver and are able to anticipate
  • You are a team player but well able to work independently
  • You are comfortable in a dynamic, fast-changing environment
  • You are willing to travel frequently
  • You have excellent written and verbal English skills
